Tavistock

Tavistock is a small market town in West Devon on the River Tavy. In 2005 Tavistock was voted ‘Best Market Town’ in England. There is a large park bordered on one side by the river and by the canal on another, an arts and entertainment centre and an indoor leisure pool, as well as various shops, restaurants and cafes. Since 1116 on the second Wednesday of October is the annual Tavistock Goose Fair which is a popular local event with lots of stalls, fair rides and a variety of food vendors.
